Li Ling, Managing Director, Aviation, Bocomm Leasing

Ms. Li had worked in Shanghai Airlines as General Manger of Planning Division. On year 2010, she joined Bocomm Leasing and in charge of aviation leasing business. In the same year, Bocomm Leasing successfully closed the first SPV deal in Shanghai Free Trade Zone. Now the company has more than 180 delivered aircraft in 20 countries and regions, with nearly 200 aircraft on order. 

Ms. Li is a member of Certified Public Accountant Association in China. She has been entitled to honors by Shanghai Municipal Government on year 2007 and 2006. The On-Lending project she participated won the Deal of the Year of Air Finance Journal on year 2002. She graduated with the honor of “Excellent Graduates of Shanghai” from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She has Master Degree of Management Science, and two Bachelor Degree of International Finance and Computer Science.

Marilyn Gan, Managing Director, Aviation Finance, DVB Bank

Marilyn joined the structured asset finance division of DVB Bank based in Singapore in January 2006 as Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager with responsibility for airline clients in the Asia-Pacific region including Singapore, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and the Pacific region.
She joined the London Branch of DVB in January 2015 as Deputy Regional Head EMEA with responsibility for the Middle East and parts of Western Europe. She was also tasked with developing new markets within the EMEA region. 
Marilyn was promoted to the role of Regional Head Aviation Finance in Asia Pacific in July 2017 and has responsibility for the Bank’s lending and other platform opportunities in the Asia Pacific region. 
Marilyn has approximately 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. She started her career with Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise (now BOC Aviation) where she spent seven years focusing on the financing and leasing of aircraft to airlines globally. A lawyer by profession, she was responsible for the execution of SALE’s aircraft financing transactions (secured and unsecured) and trading activities. 
Prior to joining DVB Bank, Marilyn gained further experience in the aviation division at Marsh and McLennan Inc., one of the world’s largest aviation insurance brokerage. 
Marilyn holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from University College London and a certificate in commercial general insurance from the Singapore Insurance Institute. She has also attended various executive programs at INSEAD and the London Business School. 

James Lin, Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific of Aviation, ICBC Leasing

James (Feng) Lin, Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific of Aviation in ICBC Leasing and worked for the company since October 2008. Mr. Lin earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Sun Yat-sen University. From 1999 to 2004, he worked for China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd.. From 2004 to 2008, he served for Shannon Engine Support Limited (a CFM International wholly-owned subsidiary).
Mr. Lin has more than 18 years background in aviation leasing industry, with rich experiences in aircraft structured financing, aircraft leasing, and engine and spare parts leasing. Mr. Lin has led the team achieved a number of major innovations in China leasing industry, including the first China Tax Lease in Dec 2009 in Tianjin Dongjiang Free Trade Zone, the first Aircraft Export Lease and Offshore Lease, which also recognized by many international awards.

Paul Ng, Partner, Milbank

Paul Ng is a partner in the Singapore office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and a member of the global Aviation Practice.

Mr. Ng focuses on structured and receivables finance including project and asset finance, tax based finance, leverage finance, Islamic finance and export credit.  He has acted for major lenders, operating and finance lessors, borrowers, lessees and arrangers in a wide range of banking, finance and leasing transactions for over 15 years.

Prior to joining Milbank, Mr. Ng was the global head of aviation for an international law firm based in Singapore.

Mr. Ng is listed as a Band 1 lawyer for Aviation: Finance in Chambers Asia Pacific, 2014 and Chambers Global, 2014 and a Leading Individual for Asset Finance in Singapore by Legal 500, 2014. He is listed in the International Who’s Who of Legal Professionals (aviation) and Euromoney’s Guide to World’s Leading Aviation Lawyers. Mr. Ng is also named as a leading Islamic finance adviser in relation to transportation matters by Islamic Finance News. 

Mr. Ng speaks several Chinese dialects including Mandarin, Teochew and Cantonese.

KJ Yang, Head of Project Finance Department I / Transportation Team 2 (Aviation Finance), KDB

KJ YANG is currently the head of Aviation Finance at The Korea Development Bank(KDB). Located in Seoul Korea, he focuses in transportation sector with specialties in asset-backed transactions for various types of aircrafts. He is responsible for managing all aviation transactions within the bank including  origination, structuring and execution. His advanced knowledge and extensive experience in structured products has helped a wide variety of clients achieve their corporate objectives.

Prior to coming back to Seoul in 2016, KJ held the position of the head of Aviation & Shipping Finance Desk in Singapore where he was responsible for origination, structuring, and marketing of transactions with a focus on lease finance of aircraft, vessel and off-shore financing.

Since KJ joined KDB in 1995, he has been responsible for various roles including corporate finance, HR management and capital market bonds. He has been a senior coverage officer in the structured finance team and his product expertise consists of structured finance and lease finance.

KJ holds a bachelor(‘90) and a master(‘92) degree in Business Administration and Finance from Seoul National University.

Vipula Gunatilleka, Group Chief Operating & Financial Officer, SriLankan Airlines

Shin Watanabe, Managing Executive Officer, Head of Transportation Business Unit

Mr. Watanabe has been appointed as Executive Officer of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) since April, 2017. He has become General Manager of Global Aviation and Maritime Finance Department since Global Aircraft Finance Department and Maritime Asset Finance Department merged in April 2016. Formerly, he was appointed as General Manager of Global Aircraft Finance Department in April 2014 and relocated from London to Tokyo in May 2015.

Prior to the current position, he was General Manager of Aviation Capital Department of both Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) and Sumitomo Mitsui Finance & Lease (SMFL) after we closed the deal of RBS AC. His main responsibility was to integrate SMBC Aviation Capital into SMFG group and to maximize the synergy between AC and the Sumitomo Consortium (SMFL, SMBC and Sumitomo Corporation).

Mr.Watanabe joined the Sumitomo Bank, Ltd in 1987 and served as Middle Corporate banker in Kyoto Branch for 2.5 years. Then he moved to Economics Department and served as a macro economist for 1 year. In 1992, he became an industry and credit analyst in Corporate Research Department. He covered Textile & Apparel, Construction, Metal & Mining, Automotive and Transport sectors during his stay in that department for 17.5 years in Osaka, London and Tokyo. Especially for Transport sector, he was involved in various new structured finance product development projects. From 2007, he was the deputy head of this global research team, which consists of 200 analysts (more than 20 nationalities) in Tokyo, Osaka, New York, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. In 2010, he was the head of Japan Airlines work-out team belonging to Tokyo Corporate Banking Department 4 and also covered the relationship with airlines, shipping companies and railways. Then, he became Managing Director of Special Credits – Americas Division for SMBC until March 2012 and he initiated the M&A transaction of RBS AC as the project leader since July 2011. In New York, his main responsibility was to develop new business for the bank such as Middle Corporate Lending, Structured CLO Loans, Lease related transactions, Transport finance in addition to Work-out, Asset Based Lending, etc.

Simon Collins, Partner, White and Case 

Simon Collins, a Partner at global law firm White & Case, leads the asset finance practice in Asia-Pacific.  Simon advises lenders, operating lessors and airlines in a wide range of aircraft transactions, including sale and leaseback, debt financing and structured (tax-based) leasing transactions such as JOL and JOLCO.  He has been leading a wide range of high-profile cross-border aviation transactions.  Recently Simon represented BNP Paribas in connection with the financing of five Airbus A321 Aircraft for VietJet – marking the first-ever JOLCO transaction completed for any Vietnamese company.  He also advised Avianca in connection with a US$100 million loan guaranteed by UK Export Finance (UKEF) to finance one Boeing 787-8 aircraft for Avianca, which was structured as a JOLCO.  In addition, Simon also has significant experience with restructuring and has been involved with advising clients in connection with airline insolvencies and aircraft /engine repossession.  Simon has been ranked as a Band 1 Leading Lawyer for Asset Finance in Japan by Chambers Asia-Pacific.
